A graduate of California State University Long Beach's Commercial Music Program, Kendra Cogert has performed in the Southern California area from Santa Barbara to San Diego and Palm Springs, as well as at the Montreaux Jazz Festival in Switzerland and the North Sea Jazz Festival in Amsterdam. She is married to professional bassist and Founding Director of Jazz Angels, Barry Cogert. Together they have two adult children, Max and Julie.

Kendra founded Music Together at the Beach in 1999 and is passionate about bringing the joy of music-making to the lives of young children and their families. Her energy and sincerity are always a hit with the families in her program. As the Director of one of the longest-standing Southern California Music Together^® Centers, Kendra is an excellent resource of knowledge and information about the musical development of young children.

Meet Juliette Ortiz, a vibrant children's music teacher known for her warm and enthusiastic approach. Having participated in Music Together with her two children for six years, she is highly familiar with and aligned with our mission, values, and practices. With a background in special education and child development, Juliette is passionate about fostering playful interactions through musical education. Believing deeply in the healing power of music and the arts, she is dedicated to creating a supportive community where children can explore and grow through music. We’re fortunate that Juliette has been teaching with us since completing her formal Music Together Teacher Training in October 2023.
